it was dusk

This photo was taken last night from the balcony of my house in Newport Beach.   A much cooler night in comparison to the blazing heat wave Southern California has been having for what seems like an eternity.  The sun was setting, the wind was whistling, and the faint laughter in the distance was dwindling away with the sun as the last beach explores packed up their cars and headed home.   Dusk was upon us.  The transition between day life and night life was reflected before me.  The sun, our main light source was completely swallowed by the waves only leaving behind its beautiful yellow and orange shadow.  The twinkle lights provided a rich and meditative aesthetic.  All was calm at dusk before the moon took over the sky and the lovers of the dark took over the streets and danced away into the night.
