Week 1/2

I was at the beach last night so I got a great chance to watch the different stages of the sunset. Although the sun created the most brilliant pictures before it set, creating sharp silhouettes and high contrast images, I was most impressed by the picture it painted after it had dipped below the horizon. Although it was still back-lighting the ocean, the light diffused to give everything a softer hue, and the sky became the most beautiful peach-orange. I was also quite surprised to find that the ocean really lit up after the sun had set, to the point that I wasn't sure if the sky or the sea was exuding more light. This balanced feeling lent to an atmosphere of serenity and contentedness, and the colors, especially in the water, are definitely something that would be interesting to reproduce in a theater.

  1. Beautiful composition in this image! Nice, stark silhouette against the flame colored sky and sparkling reflective sea. It's lovely and shows off nice texture and balance!
