I took this picture because it was a great example of fluorescent lighting in hospitals. I think the the fluorescent light with white colors in buildings like this makes me associate it with being cold and sanitary. To me the atmosphere it is creating is not very comfortable and they way the lights in the picture continue down the hallway and the light reflecting off the shiny floor makes it feel endless. This screams thriller/suspense movie for me, empty hospital at night and hallways with fluorescent light, its creeps me out like someone is going to capture you and experiment on you kinda thing. Anyways the lighting is very appropriate for its function at a Hospital where the doctors need great lighting to operate and the hospital does seem more clean with such lighting.
YES. agree with this 100%. It's bright and functional and necessary but leaves such a feeling of disdain and almost horror at times (makes me think of walking dead! The flickering fluorescents in the hospital opening scene!) Nice commentary.
